Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is fastly becoming a common disease with the advent of industrialisation in India.  Due to a western diet and sedentary lifestyle obesity has become common. While obesity is a common cause for sleep apnea, some patients do have other causes as well.

Patients with sleep apnea usually have fragmented sleep at night, loud snoring and sudden awakening with a choking sensation. Sleep apnea is a common cause for uncontrolled blood pressure and may increase the risk for heart attack, stroke etc in an early age.

Sleep apnea can be easily diagnosed with a sleep study and can be treated comfortable using non-invasive respiratory devices such as CPAP or BPAP.
